Root Growth Response of Soybean Under Water Deficit

چکیده
Roots are plant organs that function to absorb water and nutrients from the rhizosphere. If soil is dry, roots will be affected first. This study aims know response of soybean root drought stress. research was arranged in a randomized completely block design (RCBD) with two factors three replications. The first factor moisture content, which consisted four levels, e.i., 100, 75, 50, 25% field capacity. second growth stage, kinds, vegetative active, flowering time, seed filling period. results showed content below 75% capacity decreased length, fresh weight, dry volume, increased shoot ratio. period more sensitive deficiency than active time. findings plants can grow well at 100% practical implication planting soybeans use

Regulation of Root Growth Responses to Water Deficit
The growth and function of roots are essential for crop productivity under waterlimiting conditions, but direct improvement of roots by plant breeding has been slow. One difficulty is the observation and quantitative measurement of root systems under conditions that are relevant to field environments. Another challenge is the identification of and selection for specific loci that could improve ...
متن کاملGenetic and physiological controls of growth under water deficit.
The sensitivity of expansive growth to water deficit has a large genetic variability, which is higher than that of photosynthesis. It is observed in several species, with some genotypes stopping growth in a relatively wet soil, whereas others continue growing until the lower limit of soil-available water. The responses of growth to soil water deficit and evaporative demand share an appreciable ...

Irrigation is an inevitable part of agriculture which determines crop yield and thus food security. In modern era of agriculture, crop yield is determined on the basis of crop production per unit of water-use instead of crop production per land unit area. Deficit irrigation is introduced as a strategy for controlling water resources that leads to water resource preservation. Date palm requires...

Drought being a major challenge for crop productivity and yield affects multigenic and quantitative traits. It is also well documented that water stress shows a cross talk with other abiotic stresses such as high temperature and high light intensities (Tripathi et al., 2013) [1]. In this report, we documented the details of the methods and quality controls used and considered in our time course...
